International Women's Day 2021
#ChooseToChallenge #IWD2021
The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day is Choose to Challenge. “A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change. So, let's all choose to challenge.” We asked our Ergobaby team to share some ways in which they’re going to challenge themselves and challenge the world around us to create inclusive, safe spaces for all the women we know. We want to celebrate the million moments that make up our lives and the people that make those moments worth celebrating!
So today, our blog stage belongs to these wonderful women from our Ergobaby team across Germany, France, the UK and Poland and their #ChooseToChallenge pledges.

Piccolo’s One For You, One For Mum Campaign
helping families in need at a difficult time
If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that this past year has been a tough one for us all.
Our good friends at Piccolo know that this is especially true for parents across the UK. That’s why they’re launching their new One For You, One For Mum campaign to support families in need at this difficult time.
At Ergobaby we always aim to do what we can to help others, so when they asked us to get involved, we jumped at the opportunity.
The campaign
Food is so important when it comes to bringing families together and it’s absolutely vital that all families have access to nutritious meals for their little ones.

Behind the Scenes
Product Development: We Are All Ergobaby
After recently giving you an insight into our production facilities, we would like to go yet one step further back in the production chain. The creation of a new “Ergobaby” or the further development of an existing product from our company is always a joint effort. Because it is not only our chief developer Rodney in Maui who is involved in the creation process. By using our baby carriers, YOU play a major role in improving our products.
We take feedback from our customers, parents and, in some ways, babies very seriously and suggestions for improvement or confirmations always flow into the development of new and existing Ergobaby products.

Fair & Global: How Our Baby Carriers Are Made
Ever wondered how a baby carrier is actually made? What about a nursing pillow, sleeping bag, or swaddler? We're going to share a sneak peek into the processes of how our Ergobaby products are born.
As you might already know, the creative part of the production process takes place on Maui, which is the home of Ergobaby’s founder, Karin Frost. There, the product designers come up with fun features or innovative product ideas, which then eventually will see the light of day, piece by piece.

As a new parent, working out how to dress your baby for bed can be a struggle. Will they be too hot? Will they be too cold? And in our ever unpredictable UK weather, a warm night can turn cold. Here we’re going to look at the newborn sleepwear options available to help the newest member of your family sleep better - Because if baby sleeps better, you all sleep better!
Basic Bedding & Clothing
Whether it’s a moses basket, crib or cot, you will need a well-fitted sheet for the mattress and a waterproof cover to go underneath. This will keep your mattress in the best condition for your baby to sleep on.
Wherever your baby sleeps, it is advised that you always place your baby to sleep on his or her back.
While baby sleeps, the bed should be free of soft toys and loose blankets. Even the littlest babies can wriggle around more than you think and having these items in the bed can increase the risk of their face becoming covered.

Happy Within: a Diverse Children's Book by Marisa Taylor
We have been lucky enough to have been working with the wonderful Marisa (and her gorgeous family!) ever since her daughter Havana was tiny. We've loved following their family's adventures over on JetLifeBaby, so when we heard that Marisa had created a children's picture book to help kids from around the world learn about self-love & diversity we couldn't wait to read it and shout about it from the rooftops!
Marisa lives with her husband André and their two daughters Havana and Naliya in London. They are a mixed Jamaican, Canadian and German family, and Marisa's inspiration for the book began when she became pregnant and her husband explained the harsh reality and challenges their daughter would have, because of her skin colour. Whilst Marisa knew she would never fully understand what her husband or children would go through
