Behind the scenes: How the Ergobaby team works at home
New Work has been a hot topic for quite some time as the world of work undergoes a fundamental structural change. It's all about more flexibility, greater networking, the digitisation of everyday working life, and about becoming ever more productive while having more fun at work. We discussed at our annual kick-off meeting in early February whether and how we want to change new forms of teamwork across our various locations in the Hamburg, Paris, London and L.A. offices, but also individually. After all, "every kick is different", which means that everyone defines feeling good at work differently. But what is often mentioned is the desire for more home office time.
Well, who would have thought at the beginning of February that this would become a reality so quickly for so many of us? Switching to 100% of us working from home, virtually from one day to the next, nobody could have predicted

Lots of parents often ask about swaddling. Many are not sure of either the best way to do it or even why they should be doing it in the first place. Some parents have tried it previously and have their reasons why they didn’t stick to it: the baby hated to be swaddled, the swaddle never stayed put anyway, I want her arms free so she can self soothe, etc.
How does swaddling help a baby?
Swaddling isn’t just cute because you make a little baby burrito. It’s beneficial for your baby (and you!). While there are lots of reasons why many parents choose not to swaddle their newborn babies, there are far greater reasons why you should! Here are just a few:

We have all heard about new car smells, but what about new baby smells?
You know, that earthy, new baby smell, that one that causes dopamine to release in your brain and makes you feel so good – what is it?
Smell can be the most potent sense to strike up an emotional response. The smell of a newborn is likely thought to be a combination of chemicals secreted through sweat glands, lingering amniotic fluid and vernix caseosa, the white cheese-like cream that covers babies at birth; all this combined, is thought to create a combination of intoxicating medley aroma that nature designed to pull you in. Whatever it is, that distinct smell provides a pathway to our brains and to ultimately our hearts and binds us to that little life in front of us.

First time parents are spending more than three billion pounds on baby gear every year, with more than half ending up in debt!
A nationwide study released in time for British Savings Week (16th - 22nd September), has found that UK parents spend an average of £10,000 on baby prep/first year of life costs, adding up to more than THREE BILLION POUNDS spent on first babies alone EACH YEAR.
Shockingly, a whopping 90 percent of parents admitted they’d overspent on baby goods, with an average £5,567 wasted in total. That’s £1.7billion wasted each year by British parents on items that were either not used at all, or not enough to warrant the amount spent!
And with some parents admitting to spending as much as a brand-new Ford Focus* it’s no surprise that more than half (56 percent) of new mums and dads go into debt due to unforeseen or unplanned costs associated with their first baby.
The research, commissioned by Ergobaby UK, found that three quarters
