How to Choose the Right Baby Carrier for Your Family
Your baby carrier should sync with your lifestyle and personal style. So whether you’re an on-the-go outdoor adventure family or need a carrier for neighborhood walks and summer travels, your baby carrier needs to meet both yours and your baby’s needs.
WHAT TO LOOK FOR
Searching for the best baby carrier for you can be overwhelming when sorting through endless options on the internet — but what qualities should you be looking for exactly?
The four features that matter most when shopping for a baby carrier are:
Ergonomics
Comfort
Ease of Use
Functionality
Ergonomics
Your child’s health is and always should be your primary concern when shopping for a baby carrier. Your carrier should provide adequate support for your baby’s growing head, neck and back.
It should keep your baby in an upright position, meaning they are not slumped and their chin is off their chest, so airways are open, as well as high enough on your chest so you can

How to Set your Ergobaby Baby Carrier Up Out of the Box
So you've just received your brand spanking new (or delightfully preloved!) baby carrier... now what? First things first - safety! We'd love you to check out this blog: Safe Babywearing From The Beginning that outlines the T.I.C.K.S rules for babywearing. They only take a few minutes to read but are hugely important!
Then onto your carrier... of course all our carriers come with written instructions, and you can find video instructions here but here's our carrier by carrier guide to how to set your carrier up out the box.
Embrace
Our Embrace carrier is specially designed for newborn snuggles but it can be used for babies up to 11kg. Regardless of the age/height of your baby the carrier comes out the box ready to go as this carrier's adjustments are made as you put it on. For a newborn baby under 23 inches / 58.4cm long you will roll the waistband to shorten the panel and make it suitable for newborns (you can see how here

How to Ensure Your Carrier Lasts a Lifetime!
One of the greatest compliments we receive is when you tell us that your carrier is "three babies strong" or "ten years old and still going"! Not only do we love imagining all those family babies kept safe and close in our carrier but we also love knowing that parents can rely on our carriers too. To keep your carrier in tip top condition we recommend following our top tips below...
Use Teething Pads / Dribble Bib
Most babies, once they start teething, suck on the straps of the carrier. It’s right there, in perfect reach for tiny mouths and it's soft and squishy and satisfying... who can blame them? But... the PH of their saliva and the wear of tiny teeth can damage your carrier so we offer teething pads and dribble bibs to help protect your carrier from their cheeky chomping. It also saves on washing as all you have to do is pop the teething pads in the wash after baby has a major suck session!
Our patterned dribble bibs are compatible

What to Wear for Winter Babywearing!
A couple of months ago we shared our Top Five Tips for Winter Babywearing along with this handy Reel created for us by the brilliant @harrowslings. Now we thought we'd delve a little deeper and share our recommendations for exactly what to wear when babywearing during the winter months - for both parent and baby!
Dressing Baby
Layers
Overheating is the number one thing to avoid when dressing you and baby for winter babywearing. Start with fewer layers and add more if you feel baby is too chilly. When dressing baby, remember that your carrier counts as a layer of clothing and so do you. Your body temperature warms them up and if you wear a coat round you both or a winter weather cover this counts too! Where possible, two-piece outfits or footless bodysuits are best. Onesies can sometimes pull up at the crotch and therefore pull on their feet. And remember, if you go indoors at any point, you will need to remove layers to keep baby (and you!) from

How Do I Use The Neck Support On My Ergobaby Carrier?
It may be a rather small part of your carrier but using your baby carriers' neck support correctly can make a difference to both baby's safety and comfort so we think it's really important! It's designed to be super easy to adjust depending on your baby's age and stage, and how you're carrying them.
Before we get started, please note that the first two points relate solely to our Adapt and Omni carriers as our Original or All Position 360 carriers need an infant insert for the early stages so the rules change a little here, and our Embrace and Aerloom carriers' neck support isn't moveable.
When your Ergobaby baby carrier arrives it will be 'set up' as if for a newborn, with the neck support buttoned onto the inside of the carrier. So if you have just bought your carrier new and have a newborn (7lb+) baby then you're good to go. But for everyone else you may need to adjust the support's position before you start wearing your little

Our Top Five Tips for Winter Babywearing
Every year as it starts to get chillier, we have questions in from parents asking about how to dress their little one while they're in their baby carrier in cold weather, so here are our Top Five Winter Babywearing tips:
1. Less Is More
Dressing baby in too many layers of clothing could cause them to overheat, so start with fewer layers and add more if you feel baby is too chilly. When dressing baby for winter babywearing, remember that your carrier counts as a layer of clothing and so do you as your body warms them up - particularly as your temperature is likely to increase as you’re carrying baby, along with any number of parenting essentials!
2. Wear Your Carrier UNDER Your Coat, Not OVER It
It might be tempting to put your carrier on over coat or cardigans etc. to keep your warmth inside it but not only does this prevent you and baby from sharing warmth but it can also affect the fit of your carrier making it less secure for you and baby. Keeping

How to Check Baby's Positioning in your Carrier
Our carriers are all designed to be easy to use and for baby to be perfectly supported no matter their age or size and in every carry position. But sometimes something doesn't quite feel right or isn't quite working. The good news is that this can very likely be fixed with some very simple adjustments to how you wear your carrier or position baby in it.
Set up is key
First step is to check your carrier is set up correctly. The easiest way to do that is to click this link and find your carrier on the page. Find whichever carry you're looking for and watch the instructional video, it will include how to set your carrier up for that particular position. A few things to make sure of:
If using one of our Original, Adapt, All Position 360 or Omni carriers, ensure you are using the correct velcro tabs on the inside of the waistband for your baby's size. For those with our Aerloom or Embrace carriers you may need to roll the carrier if you have
