Attachment parenting focuses on continuous connections, closeness and touch with baby. Using a carrier or sling can help aid this. Whether it’s responding to your little one’s cry or human contact carrying your children helps respond quicker. Whether it’s a baby, toddler or older child, they love to be held which means you can learn to adapt to their needs.
Ergobaby attended the most recent Attachment Parenting Conference and were lucky enough to hear so many different speakers talk about the different areas of Attachment Parenting.
Dr Rosie Knowles was a key note speaker at the event. Dr. Rosie Knowles, runs the Snug, the Sheffield Sling Surgery, a consultancy and sling library service, and the associated online Sheffield Sling Surgery Virtual Community. She has been trained by several schools registered with the British Association of Babywearing Instructors and her passion to support families is just incredible.

Ever put baby in your baby carrier and thought "am I doing this right?" ?
This International Babywearing Week, we want to share the T.I.C.K.S rule for safe babywearing, to help give you confidence when wearing your baby :
1. T is for "Tight"
Slings & carriers should be tight enough to hug your baby close to you, as this will be most comfortable for you both. Any slack/loose fabric will allow your baby to slump down in the carrier which can hinder their breathing and pull on your back.
2. I is for "In View at All Times"
You should always be able to see your baby’s face by simply glancing down. The fabric of a sling or carrier should not close around them so you have to open it to check on them. In a cradle position your baby should face upwards not be turned in towards your body.
3. C is for "Close Enough to Kiss"
Your baby’s head should be as close to your chin as is comfortable. By tipping your head forward you should be able to kiss your baby on the head or forehead.
4. K is for "Keep

Recently, we’ve been contacted by a few parents on social media, enquiring as to how they can choose between carriers and the benefits of our carriers over those from other manufacturers. Without talking you through the product face-to-face or while the products are in your hands, it can sometimes be difficult. That’s where sling libraries come in and why they are so important.

Sling libraries offer invaluable services to parents interested in babywearing who want to find out more and learn about their options. Often run by qualified babywearing consultants or peer supporters, each library will have a collection of baby carriers and baby wraps available for hire or for you to try before you purchase your own. The consultant will be able to ensure you are wearing your baby in the correct and safe way in your chosen carrier or sling, as well as ensuring the fit is right for you, your baby and your lifestyle. Going to a wedding with a baby?! Read how Clare and baby Euan mastered it here!
I had a wedding to attend with my 10 week old baby, Euan. Going anywhere with a new-born can often be somewhat of a military operation, therefore I needed a plan of attack to try to minimize any risk of meltdown mode (him not me!) occurring. Euan loves his cuddles, so a plan was formed, I would use a baby carrier. Finding a dress to wear that was suitable to breastfeed in was a much trickier operation, but that's another story!
I had only used a stretchy wrap with him before and while comfy, I sometimes found it a bit of a faff to get on and off, so for the wedding I wanted a buckle carrier. I was given the opportunity to road test Ergobaby's newest addition, the Omni 360. The beauty of the Omni is that Ergobaby seem to have taken all the best features from its other carriers to make this one. One great feature is that it fits a new-born without needing any extra insert as it is altered by adjusting the Velcro
Ergobaby Adapt Baby Carrier
WE DID IT! We've been voted as top baby carrier in the Mumii Best Baby & Toddler Gear Awards 2017.
Each year Mumii call upon a large group of consumers to test the products entered in their awards, which means that these are awards are voted for by YOU!
Here's what some of the reviewers had to say :
This carrier was at the higher end of the market price wise – but was also high end of quality, suitability and comfort, therefore I felt it was good value for money. I found it extremely easy to use the manual to set up and the straps were tied up nicely when it was unpacked which allowed the carrier to be adjusted easily. On a few days out my sister and I took it in turns to carry and the carrier was easy to alter to fit our different body shape. The lumbar support on the carrier was a real comforter and felt it helped carrying for long durations. The straps were padded and had lovely comfort. My 3 year old daughter has the matching dolly ergobaby and she absolutely
