Congratulations! You've almost made it through the first year with your little miracle. With all the ups and downs. We know how quick it goes! Perhaps they are already taking their first steps. Or maybe they need a few more months? It’sall completely normal. Most children take their first free steps between the ages of 13 and 14 months, some walk much earlier and others only at 18 or 20 months. Everyone has their own pace of development. Today, let's take another look at baby milestones, focusing on 12-month baby milestones together with our midwife and expert Katrin Ritter. This concludes our blog series Baby’s developmental

Moving around is fun! Whether it's from back to tummy, turning around on your tummy or crawling around the room - your baby loves to move. Especially once they learn to crawl, probably by the end of their 7th month. They are eager to play with a wide variety of toys and are approaching their next milestone on the way to walking upright. This is because the 8-month-old baby milestones include sitting at an angle.
Most babies have mastered this by the end of their eighth month, so that they can continue to move upwards. And don't worry if your little one is not quite ready at this stage. Every baby has their own pace and develops at different speeds. However, if they aren’t yet able to turn from their back to their tummy by the end of the eighth month, this is a good reason to consult your paediatrician.

Summer is officially holiday season! And while many are drawn to faraway places, more and more people are spending that quality time together within the UK or simply at home, within their own four walls. This trend has a name: staycation. It is made up of the word "stay" and the suffix "-cation" from vacation.
There are many reasons to choose a staycation. The cost of international travel, because you’ve just welcomed a new baby, because life with children feels easier with home comforts on hand, or just because home is where you want to be. Whether you’re visiting somewhere new or staying home here are a few ideas for a fun-filled family staycation

There’s few things more exciting than feeling your baby growing bigger and bigger in your belly. However, as they grow there is more and more weight to carry around with you - and that can be exhausting. One way to relax is to take a bath during pregnancy, with candlelight and soft music. Or perhaps you’d prefer a day at the spa to use the sauna, hot tub or even swim a few lengths. But sometimes rumours can be confusing and you might have heard some about bathing and pregnancy.
So, is it safe? Should you be worried about overheating, strain on your body, the risk of bacteria etc.? Yes and no, says our expert and midwife Katrin Ritter. In principle, there is nothing wrong with taking a bath or swimming during pregnancy and exercise is generally good for you. However, there are a few things to bear in

We love babywearing! It’s really in our DNA. Our founder Karin Frost designed her first baby carrier more than two decades ago as she simply couldn't find anything satisfactory on the market at the time so ended up founding her own company. One of the things she made sure of is that Ergobaby carriers adapt with baby as they grow. And as your little love gets bigger there will come a time that they feel less comfortable on your front, at which point (and before if you like - as long as they reach all the steps listed below) we absolutely recommend trying a back carry in your Ergobaby carrier. It has lots of advantages and is expressly encouraged by our midwife and babywearing consultant Katrin Ritter.

It's that time of year again, summer adventures await and entice both young and old out into the great outdoors. A trip to the beach, or a summer party, or a picnic in a shady city park - with the right equipment, these outings are guaranteed to be fun and virtually stress-free, even for those with small babies. You have been carrying your baby for nine months. They have constantly heard your heartbeat and felt your closeness. They have felt safe and secure. So it's no wonder that they need this closeness after they arrive in the world. With a baby carrier or wrap, you can give your baby exactly this feeling of safety and security. This allows them to relax and so they are more likely to fall asleep. At least in the first few months of life.
Have you ever asked yourself though, if it’s safe for your baby to sleep in a baby carrier? Or should you wake your baby when they fall asleep in it? Our babywearing expert

And another month has passed and your little love is now in their seventh month of life! We are getting closer to the end of the official baby period and with that, getting closer to your baby's first steps. There are still a few months and a few milestones ahead of you but time is racing.
At the moment, your little one is probably still lying around a lot, but is getting more and more active: they stretch and roll from side to side. Their goal this month: they want to get ahead. And they probably will by the end of this seventh month. Because in your baby’s “7-month-old baby milestones”, the milestone of "commando crawling" is coming up. Faster than you can look, in “baby development 7 months” your baby embarks on a voyage of discovery. In addition, their motor skills are becoming increasingly precise and changes are also noticeable in their social and mental development. Together with midwife and baby expert

Yay, you're pregnant! Congratulations! Are you already excited and looking forward to watching your belly slowly grow and feeling your unborn miracle more and more? Many parents-to-be plan a “babymoon” of some kind during this time. Preferably somewhere warm, on the beach, in the sun. A holiday destination that can only be reached by plane. But do you feel uncomfortable at the thought of getting on a plane pregnant? Should you? Many parents-to-be feel that way. That's why we asked our midwife and baby expert Katrin to answer the question “is flying safe when pregnant?” including when she thinks is the best time for a parent-to-be to fly.
Is flying allowed during pregnancy?
Generally speaking, you can fly during pregnancy
