Introducing Our Partnership with Hope and Homes For Children

Transforming systems. Changing lives.

Hope and Homes for Children is a global expert in the field of deinstitutionalisation. Their aim is to close institutions whilst supporting children into loving, stable families and working with governments to tackle the root causes of family breakdown. They are working towards a day where orphanages have been eliminated for good.

Their belief is that no child should ever suffer the neglect of life in an orphanage. They've been working with families for nearly 30 years to keep children out of orphanages, safe at home with the people who love them. For small children this is even more important. Every baby deserves to experience those precious moments of connection with their parents. It is what makes them feel safe and loved.  The Hope and Homes teams support thousands of parents to give their children the best start in life, by keeping them close.

Our partnership will help Hope and Homes for Children raise awareness of the harm done by orphanages by supporting children and parents to make a special connection, especially in those first few months.

Angharad McKenzie, Director of Global Marketing Communications and Fundraising at Hope and Homes for Children said

"We're delighted to be working with Ergobaby on our shared mission: to support parents everywhere to have those special moments of connection with their children, by keeping them close. The team are excited to invite the Ergobaby community of new parents and grandparents to join our movement to consign orphanages to history.  To find out more about our work and ways you can support us, please visit: www.hopeandhomes.org."

Around the world, women still take on the bulk of parenting responsibilities. Over the past 30 years, we have witnessed first-hand the remarkable achievements of women – achievements which often go unnoticed and unappreciated. We’ve seen mothers fighting poverty and discrimination to provide for their families. We’ve met women struggling against unfair and under-resourced systems.

We’ve seen female orphanage survivors battling trauma but determined to give their children a better life. We know that empowering women helps children, families and communities to thrive. And we know that without support for women, the demand for orphanages will only grow.  We’ll be working together on our shared mission to support parents everywhere to have those special moments of connection with their children, by keeping them close. We are very excited to invite the Ergobaby community of new parents and grandparents to join our movement to consign orphanages to history.
