This Saturday 1st July sees the grand launch event for ‘The Snug’, a social space in Sheffield, providing early years parenting support to families. Not only that, but it provides a space for other groups to provide services to families. First aid courses, yoga and regular ‘Wrappers Delight’ meet-ups to name but a few!
Friend of Ergobaby and leading figure in the UK babywearing community, Dr. Rosie Knowles, runs the Snug, the Sheffield Sling Surgery, a consultancy and sling library service, and the associated online Sheffield Sling Surgery Virtual Community. She has been trained by several schools registered with the British Association of Babywearing Instructors and her passion to support families is just incredible. If you ever want to see or hear Rosie speak, you can often find her talking on stage at different conferences around the UK and Europe!
Rosie trains babywearing peer supporters through the Born to Carry initiative, running courses all around the country. She loves writing, and produces lots of articles about safe and comfortable sling use for several websites and publications.
Her book “Why Babywearing Matters” was published by Pinter and Martin in May 2016.
Rosie and her husband also run the ‘Sling Spot’, a retail outlet specialising in baby carriers and accessories.
Make sure you pop in and see Rosie and the team!
